The medication Tenuate is marketed as an appetite suppressant and also goes by the term Diethylcathinone and Diethylpropion. Wellbutrin, a popular anti-depressant is a derivative of the same chemical that Tenuate is made from and both have a stimulating effect on the Central Nervous System.
The action of Tenuate is similar to other appetite suppressants and is labeled a Schedule 4 controlled substance in the United States. Tenuate is manufactured in 25 mg tablets and 75 mg controlled-release tablets. Tenuate is also used to treat migraines as well as being a appetite suppressant.
You shouldn’t use Tenuate if you have hypersensitivity to sympathomimetic amines, advanced arteriosclerosis or cardiovascular disease, hypertension that is moderate or severe, hyperthyroidism, a history of drug abuse or have use a MAOI in the last 14 days. The side effects of Tenuate can be quite severe and can include pulmonary hypertension, stroke and psychosis. Other side effects include chest pain, metallic taste in the mouth, decrease in libido, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping, tremors, agitation, nervousness, dizziness, euphoria, headaches, seizures, rashes and hives and impotence.
Tenuate is an addictive substance and you may become dependant upon Tenuate if you use it for a prolonged period of time. The habit forming nature of Tenuate means that it is not usually sold without a prescription; however you can buy it online from some resources. Ensure that the Tenuate you are taking is legitimate and has the brand mark—if the pills you are taking do not have the Tenuate brand mark on the caplet or tablet, do not take the medication.
You shouldn’t take Tenuate without speaking to your doctor or pharmacist about possible drug interactions. Other than MAOI’s, you shouldn’t take Tenuate if you are taking a tricyclic anti-depressant such as Elavil, Asendin, Sinequan, Pamelor, Tofranil, Anafranil, Vivactil or Norpramin, as these medications may reduce the effects of Tenuate or react adversely.
Tenuate is labeled in a similar fashion to other opiate medications and pain killers. The street use of this medication is for both appetite suppression and the euphoria that is created when taking the medication. It is noted that you shouldn’t suppress your appetite without consulting a physician first—everyone has to eat some food at some point—do not use Tenuate to eradicate your appetite completely, to do so may cause some serious damage to your body and could ultimately lead to death.
As with all medications, you shouldn’t overuse Tenuate, especially if you are purchasing it for recreational use as a euphoric agent. If you aren’t sure, ask your doctor.
There are many online pharmacies that are reputable—do not take medication from a hack-store online that you can not verify the contents of their medications.
